Enjoy Life!

This is one of my earlier, and favorite, pieces. On a box canvas, these hand painted flowers are 3-D and have ink accents. The sentiment, Enjoy Life, really resonates with me. Enjoyment is a choice, just as are love and joy. (Sorry, silly me doesn't know how to rotate the photo to be face up!) Computer idiot here!

Believe

Believe in yourself, your hopes, your dreams. In the wonderfulness of life. In relationships that last. In the beauty all around us. In love. In creativity. In life. Believe! I created this canvas using my own creation: 3D flowers crafted of paper, paint, and ink. They're some of my first attempts and have evolved and improved since. The were really fun to make.

Cascade, Idaho

God's beauty evident on my recent trip up to Cascade, Idaho. Taken while the car was moving, it's still a good depiction of His amazing creation!

"Rosebuds"

In the spirit of Springtime, I'm sharing my "Rosebuds" piece with you! Acrylic, ink pens, & stamp pad ink applied with cotton balls. Board canvas attached to box canvas, for depth. This was really fun to do...hope you enjoy!

Orange Mask - by ME!

Somerset Studio magazine published this project of mine in 2014. Crafted of a mask base, papier mache, papers, fingernail polish, ink, glitter, and a little bit of whimsy! This was a really FUN project to do. It evolved as I continued to work on it, like much art does. Very fun to see it published, too!

Blue Mask - also by ME!

Like the orange mask, this piece was created out of paper, mask form, fingernail polish, glitter, and a lot of carefree fun! Also published in Somerset Studio magazine, same issue as orange mask. Talk about exciting!

Canada Goose

One of my favorite birds, the Canada Goose, lives right here in Boise, Idaho! One day at the park, this one wanted some of our lunch!

Metallic Bird on a Branch

I love this piece...it's a blend of rustic, natural, and metallic elements. Birds make me smile, and this one does, too. Tree licon, stripped cardboard, a real tree branch, ink, papers, a homemade concoction of acrylic and glue to create crackle paint, and metallic paint combine to create this happy little bird.

Dream

In our busy world we often get wrapped up in our to do lists, others' expectations of us and what we should do or be, or even our own "shoulds" we put on ourselves. But, do we take time to DREAM? Do we take time to let our creativity out to play and ask the daring "what if?" Dream of a creative life...then make it happen.

Celebrate Life

I love this sentiment. Sometimes life is really hard, isn't it? I live with bipolar disorder, so I know what bad days are. I created this little canvas to be a reminder to me to see the joy in life and celebrate it! I hope you enjoy it, too.

I love this piece, and the quote. Reminds me to not only dare to dream, but to pull out all the stops and dream BIG! "She sat under her favorite tree and started to dream...and then started to dream BIG!"

My flowers!

After playing around for quite a while, I finally developed what I call "my flowers", 3-dimensional flowers created with painted paper, ink, and glitter! Perfect for my mixed media canvases, they add that little "pop" I was looking for! So happy with the results.
